REM Verification Guidelines with Danalogic 6 Hearing Aid Fittings
Follow MHAS / BAA recommended procedures.- 1. Open Aventa fitting software
- 2. From the selection screen, click “what’s connected” and wait for hearing instrument to connect. Once connected, the instrument’s serial number will be displayed underneath the image
- 3. Select the Fitting screen
- 4. Perform initial fitting
- 5. To select NAL NL1 as the default fitting rule, go to EDIT and PREFERENCES
- 6. Then select NAL NL1 as the default fitting rule

** You will be asked to re-start Aventa before the changes will come into effect.
- 7. To do a REM, go to the Fitting drop down menu at the top, select REM and choose LEFT or RIGHT.
- 8. The REM screen will appear next to the fitting screen. Click and drag on the borders of the box to enlarge the rem screen.
- 9. Choose the REM settings and follow with tube calibration as per MHAS/BAA guidelines
- 10. Stimulus for standard earmould configurations should be modulated speech noise, FFT.
- 11. If you are verifying an open fitting, please note that the REM set-up is different. Go to the set-up menu and select test settings. Ensure that the sweep settings stimulus is set to Warble tone and that the “use open rem” box is ticked as shown below.
- 12. If you are verifying an open fitting, do tube calibration and REUR using a sweep tone. After this the OpenRem buttons will be activated. Don’t do the REOR unless specifically required, as this will disable the OpenRem buttons and you will have to start the calibration and REUR processes again.
- 13. Proceed with insertion gain measurements using a sweep tone.
- 14. Adjust hearing aid parameters if needed and repeat REM until satisfied with result.
- 15. Click “save rem” button
