1. How many days data does Danalogic 6 hearing aid store?
The data logging function of Danalogic 6 stores data from the most recent 100 days of patient usage.

2. Do we need written consent from the patient when using data logging?
Our understanding is that as long as you have made the patient aware of data logging you do not need written consent. However you may want to confirm this against your internal Trust polices.

3. What does the data logging do?
The advanced Data Logging feature in Danalogic 6 records and stores the most recent 100 hours of patient usage including when and where the hearing instrument is used, how often, for how long and what programmes have been used. This information can then be viewed in the Aventa software at the follow-up appointment in a simple, graphical format. This objective information regarding the patient’s lifestyle and their listening demands can be used as the basis for adjustments to the hearing instrument and is invaluable in the rehabilitation process.

4. Is the processor in Danalogic 6 fast enough for open fittings?
The 17 Band warp processor has the shortest delay of any hearing instrument in the UK market and offers the best results for open fitting. Research has shown that the end-user is not aware of any delay in either low or high frequencies.

5. Some of the most common complaints we receive about other hearing instruments relates to their performance in noise. How does Danalogic 6 deal with hearing in noise?
The detrimental effect of background noise on speech understanding is well documented. Danalogic 6 uses Noise Reduction technology to measure the signal level and the noise level in each of the 17 bands. It then makes an estimate of the Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR) and with reference to this, adjusts the gain in each channel every millisecond. This enables high precision noise reduction without loss of speech reception or sound quality. It comfortably manages both sudden and constant noise sources and produces a cleaner, more natural sound. In conjunction with Enhanced Adaptive Directionality also found in Danalogic 6, Noise Reduction is proven to offer the highest quality, comfortable listening in noisy situations.

6. In what way is Danalogic 6 automatic?
One of the most important factors in improving speech intelligibility in the presence of background noise is Enhanced Adaptive Directionality. The algorithm in Danalogic 6 plots up to twenty different polar patterns simultaneously and adjusts these 750 times per second. This feature is automatically activated depending upon the relative direction of both speech and noise. For example, in a traffic situation where directionality is undesirable for safety reasons, Danalogic 6 would automatically switch to omni-directional mode. In a café or restaurant where the wearer wants to focus on conversation and not background noise, it will automatically switch to noise-reduction mode. These changes happen automatically and smoothly without the wearer having to change programmes or even be aware of the change. The automatic features of Danalogic 6 make it both comfortable and easy to wear. However it still retains popular, manual features such as volume control.
